Beginning Therapy

Many people seek therapy because they have reached a point where they feel stuck, frustrated, ashamed, or lost and are unsure of what the solution is. This can be an exhausting and frightening place to be. Whether these feelings result from addiction, anxiety, depression, family issues, or life’s transitions, there is hope for navigating and overcoming these challenges. Together with our therapist, you will identify your strengths and utilize them to overcome life’s challenges and transitions, ultimately reaching a place of stability. Beginning therapy can be daunting, however, the results of your efforts can bring about lasting change.
Alden Conner, LPC
Alden is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with clients ages 12 and up, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults. She specializes in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, complex family dynamics, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Alden takes an authentic and direct approach to therapy, fostering a collaborative environment where clients feel empowered and understood throughout the therapeutic process. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Miami University of Ohio and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Christine Trotta, LCSW

Christine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults navigating trauma, substance use and recovery, depression, anxiety, relationships, life transitions, identity, and self-esteem. She uses humor, authenticity, and compassion to create a space for individuals to feel safe and empowered on their journey toward healing and values the positive impact that intentional active listening can have on a person. She earned a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master’s of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. She utilizes a trauma-informed and person-centered approach while integrating a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities and is EMDR-trained.

Diana Del Cid, Resident in Counseling

Diana is a Resident in Counseling who works with individuals, couples, and children. She supports clients navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions, with a focus on understanding patterns in relationships and sense of self. Diana has extensive experience working with underserved and Spanish-speaking communities, offering culturally responsive care and supporting clients within bilingual and multicultural environments. She brings a warm, collaborative approach to therapy, creating a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and building healthier ways of connecting. Fluent in Spanish, she offers therapy in both English and Spanish. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William & Mary.

Holly Bly, Counseling Intern

Holly Bly is a student getting her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Longwood University. She has always dreamed of helping others via this profession from a young age. Counseling and helping are her passion and purpose, and she would love to serve your needs. Holly works with clients who may be struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders or substance use disorders. She also works with clients who are going through life transitions & stress. During initial sessions, you both will dive into the daily issues that are affecting quality of life, and then collaborate on goals for treatment. You will gain more self-trust and mental clarity throughout this process.
